Awards & Accomplishments
Since the WACO FFA was started in 2021, we have had many accomplishments, growing our program over the past four years. We are excited to see how we can further grow and impact the community around us!
2021
Ethan Fetzer (our advisor) came to WACO in 2021, starting the program from scratch. in this year, we:
- So many things were "in the works" as we were starting the program like creating the first officer team, and creating classes
- Four members took first place at the Kirkwood livestock judging contest
- Attended National Convention
- Attended Iowa Pork Congress Youth Judging Contest
- Iowa Beef Expo Judging Contest
- Attended State Convention
- Hosted First Banquet
2022
- Hydroponics system set up for plant science classes
- 2 $1,000 SAE grants awarded to two members
- 24 students attended FFA Sub-Districts
- 11 students went to Disctrict contests and two contests advanced
- Attended State Convention
- Ag Issues team was 5th in state
- Hosted our annual banquet
- Attended Colt with new officers
- member won Best of Show rabbit at Henry county fair
- Multiple members showed rabbits at Washington County Fair

2023
- Hosted "Welcome Back Lunch" for new and current members
- Member showed through FFA at the State Fair
- 22 members attended AG Exploration Day
- Fruit Sales
- Gained an Alumni
- Hosted a soup supper fundraiser
- 8 members went to national convention
- Three senior members became Iowa degree recipients
- One member was a star finalist at State Convention
- Poultry team advanced from districts and won State!
- Gained 30 acres for Land Lab
2024
- Poultry Team attended National Convention
- Eichelberger Farms Confirmed production of new Agricultural Learning Center (ground breaking in spring)
- Annual Fruit Sales
- Recieved Grant from Washington County River Boat Foundation
- Fed Farmers in Field during harvest
- Meeting with Iowa Secretary of Agriculure
